From Mom Jeans To Fab Skirt (a Sew Subversive Project)
Stacy, the self-proclaimed fabric junkie, (of stacysews.com) took a drab pair of tapered (gasp!) jeans and used Sew Subversive techniques to turn them into a really fabulous skirt!
That's so cool! I'm going to look into turning my mom jeans into a long skirt.
That would be a good class - refashioning maternity clothes into cute outfits. I've got bags of maternitiy clothes sitting in my closet waiting to go to Goodwill.
Stitch is the first place of its kind, a drop-in urban sewing lounge open for Bay Area urbanites to sew and socialize. Imagine a location for a modern sewing circle, where you can use (but don't have to keep and maintain in your city-sized apartment) all the sewing equipment you need.
Our mission is to create a crafty community that encourages creation and inspiration, by using what you've already got and making what you need in a space you can count on. It is a place where a beginner can feel comfortable working on easy sewing projects and more advanced seamsters can take advantage of industrial sewing equipment. Our concepts include both making new clothing from start to finish and giving new life to old clothing through refashioning and restyling.

That's awesome! I just got the book a few weeks ago and I love it! I'm currently working on a skirt made from a pair of capris that were too big. : )
